Lagos Lounge
Sunday, January 8, 2023. Oakland.
The story
Lagos Lounge was our monthly home for Nigerian culture in Oakland: Afrobeats, Jollof Kitchen serving the food, and a room full of the Bay Area's Nigerian creatives, young professionals and everyone who wanted a taste of Lagos.
The series opened in January 2023 and moved between Oakland venues as it grew. February was a Valentine's edition, March celebrated Ghana's Independence Day, April took over the rooftop at Torch, and May brought a new crowd to the dance floor. A Wizkid and Burna Boy tribute night was part of the run.
